FIRE MARSHALS
The Pinellas County Fire
Chief's Association has established a working committee comprised of the areas
fire prevention directors; these members include Fire Marshals, Division Chiefs,
as well as Fire Inspectors who coordinate their agencies prevention bureau. Each
of the county's eighteen fire districts are responsible for insuring effective
and efficient fire prevention efforts within their respective jurisdiction. Such
efforts include engineering (e.g., system design, plan review and water supply
analysis), public education (e.g., school programs, explorers/cadets and home
smoke detector installations), enforcement activities via on-site fire and life
safety inspections, and the investigation of all fires within a community.
The goal of this committee is to insure consistent enforcement and understanding
of the State of Florida Fire Prevention Code, to review and discuss new
legislation affecting fire prevention efforts, and to bring important issues to
the Pinellas County Fire Chief's. All Pinellas County fire prevention members
strive to reduce death, injury and property loss due to the effects of fire.
